User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Excellent performance for the price
I recently purchased this TV on sale for $488, and for this price, this TV is a bargain. The picture is clear even at 720p, with vibrant colors, reasonable (though not perfect) black levels and the variety of preprogrammed settings is easy to access, making simple work of changing between settings for movies, TV, and sports. The 6ms response time prevents much of the blurring in sports, though there is still the occasional ghost. The sound quality is clear, although the placement of the speakers does some muffling of the sound. I especially like the three HDMI ports, which may be useful as I update to more HD equipment. The remote is more responsive than previous versions, but it can’t be used with non-samsung products. That being said, the TV linked well to my CEC enabled Philips Progressive Scan DVD Player w/ 1080i Upconversion, DVP3962/37 synced with the TV painlessly. It does not have the highest tech features, but what it does have works very well. For the price, I have not been disappointed.

5 Stars Good Value HDTV
I’ll admit, I’m a big Sony devotee and usually love their products – but – I bought a 32″ Sony Bravia at Sam’s Club a couple of months ago and was quite disappointed. Even after a thorough tweaking – the colors were dark and muddy and the definition was middling. My Sony had a prolonged start up time and a painfully slow response to the remote – which seem to be common complaints. After about a month, the Sony started acting weird and would freeze up on certain channels – requiring shutdown and repeat power up. Understandably, the Sony went back to Sam’s for a refund.

At that point, I was disenchanted with HDTV and went back to watching our old CRT TV. My wife finally prodded me into shopping for a replacement. Sony was no longer in the running but I had read good reviews for Samsung and found the LN32A450 on sale at HH Gregg for well under $500! I compared it side-by-side to other 32″ HDTV’s in the store and found its performance as good as most and better than many costing several hundred dollars more. Colors were vibrant and definition was very good. Set up out of the box was easy and performance, so far, has been great. My only complaint: the remote is a bit big and cumbersome. Although I’ve had it less than a month – I’m impressed and would definitely pick it over similarly equipped HDTV’s – including Sony……

4 Stars Samsung 32 Inch 720 LCD
Have been extremly pleased. Easy to set up and fantastic delivery time. There is a delay when you turn it on of a few seconds however one gets use to it. Great picture quality. In comparing this set to the 1080 version could not tell the difference nor was the difference worth the additional cost.

Only unknown how will we feel in time.

1 Star Abyssmal Customer Service
Google “Samsung Customer Service reviews” before you buy any Samsung USA product. If you have to deal with them you’ll wish you’d bought another brand. Feeling lucky?

3 Stars Deceiving model number
The item was offered as model #LN32A450 which is the model I wanted. The model delivered was #LN32A455 which is the REFURBISHED version of the model advertised. EBAY should insist that refurbished equipment be clearly indicated in the posting and that the true model number to be delivered be indicated, thus alerting the buyer that “something’s different.”

The product works well. I only hope it lasts.
