Sony’s 1080p KDL-40W4100 with Motionflow 120Hz technology doubles the number of existing frames by calculating in real time and inserting 60 entirely new frames between the original 60 frames, this creates a new standard for picture performance, with smooth, lifelike image quality that responds to the demands of even the fastest moving images with ease. Full HD 1080p means the W4100 connections accept 1080p signals and the Display will render that signal in Full HD 1080p. Take full advantage of Blu-ray Disc players and PlayStation(R) 3 systems that can deliver 1080p content. The latest version of Sony’s respected BRAVIA Engine fully Digital video processor uses a collection of unique SONY algorithms to significantly reduce noise and produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images. With Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) you get real-time image processing to dynamically adjust backlight levels for improved Contrast without masking details the filmmaker intended you to see. ACE delivers deep blacks in darker scenes, as well as fine details in shadows and other dark areas of the picture for a difference you can truly see. Add to that unique features like the enhanced Xross Media Bar(TM) with 3D graphics and integrated TV Guide program information, built-in DMeX functionality, and you can see why we call the W-series the new standard in 120Hz performance. Advanced Contrast Enhancer circuit (ACE) BRAVIA Engine fully Digital video processor 24p True Cinema capable DMeX capable New TV Guide IPG New Enhanced (XMB) User Interface with Rich 3D Graphics BRAVIA Sync capable S-Force Front Surround Voice Zoom BRAVIA Theatre Sync capable (HDMI-CEC) Dolby Digital V-Chip Parental Control VESA hole spacing compatible Gloss Black color 1-Year Limited Warranty Input Ports – 4 x HDMI (1 Side/3 Rear), RF Connection, 3 x Composite Video (1 Side/2 Rear), S-Video, 2 x Component Video (Y/Pb/Pr) Input, PC in (D-Sub) + A

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Excellent product, excellent service.
Product arrived in two days, and is an excellent product at a price hundreds of dollars less than at retail stores in the Atlanta area.

5 Stars Really Enjoying This TV
The TV arrived before the estimated date and in perfect condition. Everything was complete and in the box, and setup was very easy. We are really enjoying the HD picture quality and the 120Hz frame rate really makes a difference.

4 Stars Any TV you get will be obsolite in a week….
But if you buy this one, I can guarantee you will be happy for a long time!

I bought this TV six months ago and I am incredibly happy with it. I’ve got a PS3, a Dreamcast, a Wii and a Pioner CLD-D702 LaserDisc player hooked up to it along with a nice surge protector (I live in San Francisco in an apartment with really old wiring).

I immediately fell in love with the ability to calibrate the TV for each individual device. Instead of having long reference lists of sharpness, contrasts and hues for each one. A small deal, but it makes a hell of a difference between so many previous gen devices

PS3- Looks fantastic, but that’s pretty much a no-brainer.

Wii- It doesn’t fair well without happy component cables.

LaserDiscs- If you have any in CAV format, you’re in for a treat! Because the CAVs 30fps interacts quite nicely with the 120Hz motion flow. My jaw was on the floor when I first watched Akira.

I went with this instead of an XBR because I thought this was the best looking model on the floor in terms of realism. Planet Earth looked better on this TV than any other. I was allowed to calibrate each Bravia in the store, and the x.v. color just seemed like a pointless extra at the time. But I am about to purchase a new Canon Vixia HV20 and it has the capacity for x.v. color and the Bravia KDL-40W4100 does not. But c’est la vie mechanique, n’est pas?

So if you care about x.v. color, shop bigger. But I don’t think the average person will really miss it.

2 Stars Poor picture quality in low light
For me, this tv looks great when watching sports or similar during the day. When watching a movie at night, however, the picture is horrible. Way too much backlight bleed from the top two corners. I thought it must be a defect and had Sony ship out a new one … same problem. Then they sent someone out to look at it and ended up telling me this is just the way it is. They might be right as looking around the net you see many similar complaints.

Very disapointed – this is not the 5 star set as advertised on this site. Not much point to the blu-ray player I also purchased when the tv picture is so bad when showing a dark picture. Do not buy this tv if you want to watch movies.

5 Stars Looks great, sounds great
Great color and clarity, especially in HD. Sound is clear and strong. Prefer this Sony to a similar Samsung I have. Worth the extra $s.

Ready for HD done the Sony way Sony’s KDL-46V4100 brings 1080p picture quality home with amazing, Sony-exclusive features like the XMB (Xross Media Bar) with 3D graphics, DMeX capability so you can add functionality to your TV, and picture quality technologies like ACE (Advanced Contrast Enhancer) and BRAVIA Engine 2.
5 Stars Need pro’s / con’s wall mount v. table
After months of research and reviewing everyone’s comments, I purchased this HDTV yesterday. While it won’t arrive for a few days, I’m curious if anyone has comments on a wall mounted TV v. a table top install. My wall mount was free with the TV purchase, so not out of funds if I don’t use it. Also, if wall mounted, a table or cabinet is still needed to house DVD, stereo and satellite modem. TV purchased for large living room. Any thoughts? Thank you.

5 Stars OUTSTANDING
BIGGER PICTURE SHOULD BE LESS CLEAR THAN THE SMALLER ONE RIGHT? NOT SO WITH THE SONY BRAVIA 46″ IT IS CLEAREER THAN MY OTHER SONY 40″ BRAVIA. TURNS OUT THE BRAVIA ENGINE IN THIS SONY HAS BEEN IMPROVED EVEN BETTER. MY CABLE IS NOT EVEN DIGITAL YET AND THE SONY SMOOTHES OUT AND ENHANCES IT SO WELL IT IS AMAZING. I ONLY BUY SONY TV’S AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISSAPOINTED. SURE YOU CAN GET A GENERIC BRAND FOR HALF THE PRICE BUT YOU WILL REGRET IT I PROMISE. MANY BRANDS COST MORE THAN SONY AS WELL. SONY IS ALWAYS THE BEST VALUE FOR MY MONEY AND THEY LAST FOR YEARS AND YEARS. IF THE SONY LASTS ON AVERAGE 50% LONGER THAN THE GENERIC BRAND THEN THAT MAKES UP FOR THE COST RIGHT THERE.

5 Stars SONY Bravia V Series 46 inch
After reading reviews online, I decided to purchase the Sony Bravia through Amazon. It arrived on time. The men doing the delivery set it up and checked everything to see that it worked. I couldn’t be more pleased with the service or the TV. It also ended up being over $200 cheaper than the same TV at a local dealership.

5 Stars gift for daughter
My daughter and her husband recently renovated their master bedroom. We gave them a Bravia TV. It was delivered when they would be home. The men tested it to be sure it was working properly. My son-in-law installed it on the wall. It works beautifully. The picture is superior.

5 Stars Great Product
I have had this LCD HDTV for two months now, and I completely satisfied with it. The picture quality is excellent. I have added a sony theatre system, and the two work well together. The setup takes some time, but the result is good!

I updated the ROM software on the TV. The process was easy, and I noticed that some occasional picture distortions that I had noticed earlier, are now gone.

4 Stars toshiba
not a bad system, slow reaction to the remote..picture clear and quite a few nice features overall

1 Star zero stars ?
horrible picture ! . loud humming noise. hdtv looks ok, regular tv looks really really bad. Save your money !

5 Stars An excellent picture quality
I bought this LCD TV last week, compare with the Sony 32SA10 so far I owned, this one is better than Sony’s. especailly by HDMI input, two inputs of component is convenient as well.

4 Stars great picture. sound is a different story
Have had this TV almost 2 weeks. The picture is great, do not have the hd cable box hook-up as yet, but picture is still great. Fantastic for movies. The major setback is the sound. Listening to any music channels the bass must be turned off totally. The thumping sound is really bad when music is being played. I hope to get surround sound soon to take care of this problem. Another problem is the remote. Has a slide indicator on the side of the remote to switch to tv, cable, dvd etc….It is pretty hard to pick up the remote without accidentally changing this switch. Should have moved to the front of the remote. All in all pretty satisfied.

5 Stars Kudos for Toshiba
It was a rare moment when my Toshiba 32HL95 arrived complete with all necessary cables and, when plugged in, displayed a picture of clarity and high definition that I had never seen before. We love our Toshiba.

5 Stars Sony T.V.
We received our t.v. by Fed Ex in very good condition. We however thought that buying our t.v. from Amazon and what we read on the web site that there would be someone who would come and unpack the t.v. and check it out for us which did not happen. I asked the Fed Ex driver as I was siging off his paperwork if the t.v. worked knowing what his answer would be. Luckily my son was here visiting and we were able to unpack the huge box that was still banded to its pallet and sitting in the middle of our living room so we could check to make sure everything worked well. Needless to say my wife and I are very happy with the t.v. we purchased. Our previous old t.v. was also a sony and it lasted us many many years with no problems and I am hoping our new Sony t.v. will give us the same great service.

5 Stars Awesome TV
Awesome, HUGE TV at a great price. I love this TV.. One really neat thing I noticed is that when the ambient light goes up or down in the room, the brightness of the display is dynamically adjusted accordingly. Like I said, awesome. Now if only it auto-muted commercials..

5 Stars Sony 52″ TV
Selected this TV after some reading and studying about which TVs are best. Then looked for lowest price and Amazon had it with no tax and no shipping cost!! Yay Amazon!

5 Stars Great TV
TV arrived before expected date. Delivery company contacted me and arrived within scheduled time frame. TV itself delivers a great picture. DVDs look great. No frame rate or delay issues with Xbox 360. Non-HD TV doesn’t look great, but since I watch mostly HD programming, this is not an issue. HD TV is crisp and bright. Power saving feature and auto brightness features are terrific. Had a rear projection LCD Sony before (it had optical block issues) and picture on this is equal or superior. Inputs are sufficient for everything I have. A great TV overall.

5 Stars Great Buy
I would recommend this TV to anyone who is thinking to buy it. Bought this from Dell and they have a great Customer service and also shipping was great. No problems from all sides. This is our first LCD and we are so pleased we bought this set. Great Features and Beautiful crisp clear picture. HD looks great..

The XBR 8-Series is pinnacle of Sony’s expertise in HDTV technology.
4 Stars Wait before you buy.
I bought this TV more than a week ago. Here are my reviews:

Pros:

Picture quality: BD-excellent, regular DVD-very good, regular TV programming-average.

Sound quality: very good.

Remote Control: looks good and easy to operate.

Setup: relatively easy.

Cons:

It takes at least half an hour to perform Auto Channel Search, just like the manual says.

The manual also indicates that it takes more than 24 hours to complete the onscreen TV guide setup. So far it has been more than a week, but the status info still shows “In Progress”, or no TV guide yet!

Price: still way too high, even though it has dropped from $6,999 to $5,999.

Wait until further price drop if you can!

5 Stars Amazing TV – maybe too good!
This television is fantastic – only problem is ….it’s too good! It reveals all of the garbage signals that the hd providers are outputting! The various compression techniques, the huge breakups and distortions, out of focus imagery – All is revealed in larger than life quality on this monitor! But, that’s why I got it. This TV is directly connected to an HD editorial suite for client viewing and when monitoring a fully uncompressed HD 4:2:2 image via HDMI from the edit suite it’s amazing.

Bluray is great too –

Too bad HD content on cable and dish is so substandard.

(And also that no one seems to be aware of this) So much for the new horizon of digital!

4 Stars Brilliant, but at a cost!
Not really sure if it was worth all that money, but the picture is brilliant. With my PS3 playing Bluray, this TV is the best! Am absolutely satisfied. The only thing I saw was, it took sometime (couple of seconds) to change inputs. Not sure if it was due to my Denon receiver or the TV itself. Sometimes it is a bit annoying, and also when we switch the inputs, the top information about the signal selection stays for a few seconds which I felt was again a bit annoying.

5 Stars Viewed the new XBR8 today
Saw it at the local Sony style store here in Austin this afternoon.

They were showing the Transformer blue-ray and it was AMAZING looking.

WOW-the best to be sure. Wish I had an extra 7 grand laying around.

And I just got an XBR4 last year.

5 Stars Breathtaking.
I actually own one. It is hard to imagine how a picture on a TV based on the current ATSC encoding could look any better. The blacks are “black-black”. The colors are intense. The picture is bright. The only limitation I can see has more to do with the source material than with the TV itself.

I have DirectTV HD and Sony blu-ray, I also have rabbit ears for local TV. I will for the purposes of this review, ignore Analog TV and VCR, both of which are beyond obsolete.

With standard 480 source, the mosquito filtering is poor or non-existant. I am not sure if this is because of the TV, because of the upscaling of the DirectTV HD-DVR or because of the original network processing. However with true HD source (either 720P or 1080i), the results are stunning. The 3-D processing (two dimensions of the picture and one dimension of time) to interpolate intermediate frames is just stunning. With any other TV, I have learned how to see the macro blocking when the compression is running at the limit, but this TV does an incredible job of not only smoothing out the inter-frame judder, but it remarkably sharpens the picture for those interpolated frames as well. When I pause a picture with the DVR, you can see macro blocks, but as soon as you press “play”, you can actually see the motion processor cutting in.

The results with a good blu-ray disk are, well, get your popcorn and 64 oz cup of soda because it is better than a movie theater since it is brighter.

I have two complaints, both of them “nits”. The first is that it takes way too much effort to set the sleep timer. Obviously Sony did not anticipate that a lot of users would use this TV to fall asleep on the couch with. Its not a big deal, but other TVs have a one button sleep button – the height of lazy, I’ll admit. The other thing is that the “universal” remote doesn’t know how to control the DirectTV HD-DVR. Like all other universal remotes, you still need a remote caddy in your La-Z-Boy to keep all of your other ones…

Of course the obvious down side is the $7,000 price, but YGWYPF.

5 Stars Nice LCD TV –Honestly Speaking
I ordered this TV after many weeks of research on the net. I have only had it now for few weeks and nothing compares to it- honestly speaking. The picture and sound are crisp clear – a true 1080 pixel quality. With an upscaling DVD player you are sure to watch a HD quality picture just with a normal DVD. The picture quality for sure is much better than that of 720p TV.

Though expensive(almost twice the price of a 720p sony M or L series, anybody who wouldn’t compromise quality should go for the XBR series instead of M or L series if he/she can afford it.However am hoping it will be able to stand a test of time (ie durable). I recommend it.

4 Stars One of my more tasteful reviews
So here is the bottom line on this Sony…

1. Beautiful appeal, the product simply leaps out of the box it will actually look better then described.

2. The options truly due seem limitless, picture, screen, sound, and more with stunning capabilities to adjust even the very finest of viewing detail.

3. The TV menu (if you like the PS3 styling) is wonderful and currently supasses most of what is on the market.

4. When other reviewers speak of 3D like picture quality yes this is very true, the color reproduction of this TV is outstanding and with the Bravia Engine 2 you will enjoy very life like images.

5. The TVs internal software is updatable with a USB stick there is one update available at the time of this review, very neat feature.

6. The built in TV Guide feature is amazing with listings for almost every channel, it will tell you whats on and whats next with many search features (need not apply for those of you with cable boxs)

7. Many inputs and ways to select them very simple and easy to use.

8. The TV will dim/adjust the screen brightness based on the lighting in your room.

Issues noticed:

1. The TV will create a “new plastic odor” when turned on for the first couple weeks however this is not an issue for most people since the smell is not too strong and is that of just plastic.

2. The software runs a tad slow and will lag minorly but is well worth it for its capabilites, also the TV takes a few moments to load.

3. The TV will give off a slight hummmm while turned on this can be very irritating in a quite room.

4. I received a complimentary small scratch on the stand that came with mine, just a thought for the QC conscious

For those who are wondering the digtal compression artifacts and picture judder (MPEG noise) etc is very tolerable on this TV with many options to smooth out such things, also channel changing SD to SD is fairly quick.

In summation this TV is a good buy, lots of inputs and nice styling with solid performance to back it up.

As always, happy shopping =)

5 Stars Simply the Best
I’ve owned nothing but Sony TV’s since the 70’s.Always excellent and never any problems.

This 32 XBR is no exception. Picture quality is the best of any 32″ I tested, the design of the set is superb.Even non high def channels look great.

Higly recommended!

5 Stars Usual Sony Quality
After looking and comparing HDTV’s for several months I finally decided to opt out for top quality as opposed to size… I have always been very happy with Sony products and this is no exception… I am well pleased and glad that I chose the KDL-32XBR6… I look forward to many hours of pleasure… I was also pleased with the delivery, which was free… Pilot was the delivery service and delivered two days early….

D.Ray

5 Stars My 32″ Monitor
I had been shopping the market for a good TV for months before I settled on this Bravia. My size requirements and budget limited me to a TV in the 32-37″ range, and the opened box deal was too good to pass up. Ideally, I would have rather bought a plasma for the richer colors, but because of my plans to use this as a replacement computer monitor, and because I leave my computer on a lot, I went with an LCD for its smaller size and to avoid the dreaded “burn in”. I have my 360 and PS3 hooked up to it, and both look absolutely stunning, but the awesomeness of having this as my computer monitor trumps them both! I tried a number of set-ups to achieve this and found that buying a DVI to HDMI cable ($20 here on amazon) is the best solution, and the quality is, near as makes no difference, the same or better than a standard monitor. The TV does require a little bit of settings-fiddling to get the screen to fit properly, but it only took a few minutes of digging through the immense properties menu. Also, you have to make sure your video drivers are fully up-to-date, and there may even be additional HDTV drivers to download, depending on the make of your video card.

To anyone looking for an HDTV-computer monitor solution, I highly recommend this TV and the DVI to HDMI cable. This, on top of the 1080p graphics from an Xbox or PS3 make this TV worth it. I can’t wait to get my HDTV cable box from Comcast and complete the whole package.

5 Stars Great TV with many nices features
Recently I bought this TV because I wanted a nice sized TV with native 1080p resolution and also getting the most bang for my buck. I must say that I am really impressed by this model. I’ve always been a big Sony TV fan and I originally wanted to purchase a Sony Bravia 40V2500 much like the same one that my father purchased, but after seeing this unit in action, I just had to get it. Both TV’s look great and the family has some great experiences so far. but the Toshiba is slightly cheaper and offers more features and is 2″ bigger.

Some of the great things about this TV are how many features you’ll get compared to comparable models. The picture and color quality are amazing as at the price point that most retailers, both online and offline sell this at, I think that you get your money’s worth. It also has a some great features like Picture-in-Picture and ethernet capability to stream pictures and music from your home network. It also has multiple input options for different setups and had a built in digital “box” where you just need to input a service card. The sound is also great for those who don’t have the space or money to get a full home theater set up. It’s nice getting a good sound experience when watching a DVD or playing a game like Gears of War.

The only real downside to this TV so far is that it only accepts full 1080p input through HDMI, which unfortunately, my XBox 360 currently does not offer an HDMI connection solution so I can only at the most play it through 1080i.

Besides the one main flaw. This is a great solution for those who have held back on getting an HDTV. Not only is it afforable, but so far, the performance has been stellar. You can’t go wrong with it.

2 Stars Nice display but too many problems
I’ve had several problems with this television since I purchased it in 2007. Shortly after purchase, the HDMI board went out. It was under warranty but it took four visits for the repair service to get the correct part from Toshiba. Now, after twenty-two months, it has developed several vertical lines across the screen, one in the middle and one down each side about a third of the way in. While not overly intrusive in dark scenes, once you know the lines are there you can’t NOT see them, especially when a scene pans horizontally. Of course this happened shortly after the warranty expired. Luckily I bought this with my SIGNATURE VISA which doubled Toshiba’s warranty. The service technician diagnosed the panel (for a $95.00 service call) as needing to be replaced at a total cost of over $2000.00. Heck, I only paid $1700.00 for the TV to begin with. Looks like VISA will be reimbursing me my original purchase price. You can be sure I will NOT be buying a Toshiba.

2 Stars Great LCD TV but mine has a Backlight Bleeding Problem
If you are considering buying this TV because of its Cable Card Slot, don’t. I have had my cable company change 2 cable cards already and I am still having problems. My Tv came with a “backlight bleeding problem”. If you don’t know what this problem is, just Google it. It will be worth your time as this problem is very commom among LCDs. I had the worst experience with Toshiba customer service and two of its repair centers. They will not acknoledge the problem and will not fix it. I have sent them several letters which went answered. It is really sad when a company like Toshiba treats its repeat customers like that!

Sony’s 1080p KDL-52W4100 with Motionflow 120Hz technology doubles the number of existing frames by calculating in real time and inserting 60 entirely new frames between the original 60 frames, this creates a new standard for picture performance, with smooth, lifelike image quality that responds to the demands of even the fastest moving images with ease.
4 Stars Nice TV
Bought this to replace a 42″ plasma and it is very crisp and clear. Husband is really excited about it! So far so good!

1 Star So upsetting
I bought my tv on April 19th last month. The picture was beautiful for four days, then these lines appeared and would not go away. In the menu, there is a customer support number, I figured I would need to just reset the tv to make the lines go away. The lady walked me through it and nothing happened. She said a service technician would have to come out and look at it. The service guy came out the next day and determined the panel was bad and needed to be replaced. I contacted the store I bought it at and they informed me they do not have any and wont be receiving any more of the 52w4100’s. They offered me a store credit, but I would still have to come up with $600 to get the xbr. My friend works at a service center and he reassured me that it would be like brand new if they changed the panel. I felt comfortable about having it changed. It took another two weeks for the service man to get the parts in and an available service time for him to come fix it. He arrived, changed the parts and nothing happened. Sony sent bad parts. Before, there were lines in the tv, but it could still be watched. Now, I cant even watch it. He called sony right away and they told him they would call me in two days to inform me of the exchange policy. Two days later they called and first offered to upgrade me for $400 to a tv that is $200 less than mine on their own site. Then they told me they could only send me a refurbished one, that they didnt have any new ones and it will take 19 days for it to get to me. That was very upsetting. I called customer service back and asked them why it would take so long and that they have new ones in stock on their site that ship the next day. The picture was beautiful for 4 days. If I could do it again, would buy a samsung.

5 Stars Sony 52″ Bravia
Our Sony arrived promptly and was set up carefully by the deliverymen, who forgot to remove the packaging but I don’t hold that against the product, which is everything one would expect from a Sony: perfect picture, tremendous glare resistance, no-brainer operation, great audio. I’m not sure I understand all the hoopla about motionflow but trust I will appreciate it once football season begins.

5 Stars Great Big HDTV
I have had my Sony 52″ LCD HDTV for over 5 months now. I have finally nailed down great settings for my HDMI ports and component ports. I must say with the incorrect settings my TV didn’t come close to what I thought it should look like… after my last batch of setting changes the tv really sparkles.

5 Stars Greatest Present a Single Guy Could Receive!
I have had this TV for 8 or 9 months now. I received it as a house-warming gift from friends and family. I tell you what, it has been a wonderful thing so far. I’ve had no problems with it at all! The picture quality is outstanding when watching HD channels! It’s pretty decent when watching non-HD channels as well but really great with the HD channels. The sound is terrific as well. My family and friends did a tremendous job in researching and picking out a TV for me and I cannot thank them enough! I totally recommend this set for anyone who is looking to buy an HDTV for themselves or like my wonderful family, for a present to for someone who totally was not expecting it nor feels they deserve such a thing.

5 Stars Awesome hi-tech unit
Others have spoken well here. I bought this unit for my daughter. It was delivered nicely as mine was. FIVE stars to Sony and FIVE stars to amazon.com.

5 Stars Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-40V4100 40-inch 1080 LCD HDV
After I decided to buy this TV, I ordered it and 3 days later it was delivered. It has a wonderful picture, people comment on the clarity.

It was a very good price for such an outstanding TV and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 40″ flatscreen.

5 Stars Very satisfied with the product
The Sony Bravia gives you a different dimension altogether when you watch the HD channels. Check out ESPN HD in this television and you would not wish to watch any other sports channel. As also the Travel HD. Unfortunately not all the channels have the same quality of HD transmission and this hurts. Especially Fox News, which literally gives a headache!!

Another incentive for buying this model is the drop in price by almost

70$ since the time I bought the TV.

5 Stars Love it, and loved having it delivered to my living room
We love this TV. It’s pretty easy to use, and the picture and sound are great. I can’t say how this would stack up side-by-side with another brand, but we have absolutely no complaints, and compared to the CRT it replaced, well, lets just say it’s in another league! The delivery service was good – they came when they said they would and set it up in my living room. What more could I ask for.

5 Stars Great Value, Beautiful Picture
Purchased the KDL-40V4100 a month ago. Easy to set up. Easy to understand. Beautiful picture. Stunning at 1080 with a Blu-ray player. Video games look tremendous! My first big-screen LCD and I don’t regret it. On sale at Best Buy, and it was worth every dollar. Very satisfied.

LCD still not thin enough for you, then look no further than the KDL-Z4100. With a striking slim bezel design, Motionflow 120Hz for the reproduction of smooth, lifelike images, BRAVIA Engine 2 and ACE for a deeper blacks and better shadow detail, now your TV design matches the picture. Motionflow 120Hz technology doubles the number of existing frames by calculating in real time and inserting 60 entirely new frames between the original 60 frames. The latest version of Sony’s respected BRAVIA Engine 2 fully Digital video processor uses a collection of unique SONY algorithms to significantly reduce noise and produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images.
5 Stars Very happy in all respects
Couldn’t be happier with my Sony 40″ Z – actually was not really prepared for the impact it would have on my viewing. Picture is stunning, and the sound much better than other brands I checked out in this price range. As others have said, I was leary about a purchase of this amount being made online, but Amazon stands behind their products.

Have received several comments about the sleek appearance too, which is always nice…

5 Stars Sony Bravia 40″ TV w/120hz refresh
Very nice picture and a new thin screen design. Has almost all the extra features of the XBR with only two exceptions that I don’t care about. Not too thin like the new Samsung which seems flimzy and subject to easy damage. All the input and output choices you could want including an Ethernet port, USB, 4 HDMIs, etc. If I had to pick a weak point, I would say the sound is not as good as advertised which is unusual for Sony but I don’t depend on the internal speakers anyway so I don’t care. Over all, a great TV with excellent picture and good quality sound, just not the simulated 5-channel performance that is advertised.

5 Stars Amazing picture quality
Our old tv we had for the past 19 years went out and my husband was over joyed. We looked at all of the latest mfg/models and the Sony Bravia Z series stood out from all of it’s competition. The TV was delivered to our home within 72 hours and the delivery company CEVA provided white glove service hands down with the install/setup. The picture quality is amazing and it can be seen perfectly from all angles. The silver trim looks sleek and you have no finger prints to worry about. All channel changing is done through our DirectTV remote and our family and friends can’t stop commenting how awesome the picture quality is.

This TV was purchased from Amazon and not any of the 3rd parties that sell off Amazon. I’m 100% satisified with my purchase and CEVA with the white glove service they provided. Amazon is a company you can trust with small and large purchases.

5 Stars Sony Bravia kdl-40z4100
excellent product, WholesaleAV was the cheapest place to get it from Amazon listing. I saved over than $400.00 than if I have bought it from a retailer like Sears or Best Buy.

5 Stars Is the bezel metal or plastic?
Can anyone who owns this Z series TV with the silver bezel comment on whether it is actually stainless metal or just silver-colored plastic? Thanks!
